KeraVitral. The New Life of a Znojmo Phenomenon in Plesná

The exhibition will present the company KeraVitral, which has been operating since 2024 in the old factory building in Plesná and specializes mainly in the production of tiles, as well as the ceramic material keravitral (originally vitral), to which its name refers. It was developed in 1967 in the Teplice plant of Keramické závody Znojmo, from where production later moved directly to Znojmo. Initially, it was used for the production of dinner and beverage sets for restaurant and hotel operations, but due to their durability and rusticity, products made of keravitral also gained great popularity in households. The exhibition will present an extensive collection of these sets and production documentation, which testifies to cooperation with important designers of their time, such as Karel Wünsch or Antonín Hoschna. The historical part will be complemented by the current production of KeraVitral, which continues this tradition and transforms it for today's needs.
