KeraVitral. The New Life of the Znojmo Phenomenon in Plesná

The exhibition will showcase KeraVitral, a company that has been operating in an old factory building in Plesná since 2024 and specializes primarily in the production of wall and floor tiles, as well as the ceramic material “keravitral” (originally “vitral”), to which its name refers. It was developed in 1967 at the Teplice plant of the company Ceramic Works Znojmo, from where production later moved to Znojmo. Initially, it was used to produce dinner and drink sets for restaurants and hotels; however, due to their durability and rustic charm, keravitral products also became very popular in households. The exhibition will showcase an extensive collection of these tableware sets as well as production documentation that illustrates the company’s collaboration with prominent designers of the era, such as Karel Wünsch and Antonín Hoschna. The historical section will be complemented by the current production of KeraVitral, which builds on this tradition and adapts it to today’s needs.
